Buonissimo!

Well, ‘buonissimo’ indeed
) I’ve never tried pears with taleggio though (with parmesan or pecorino, more than once), I’ll give it a try, but I’m already sur it ‘ll be amazing
That sounds wonderful! I’ll have to try this combo. I’ve used taleggio on pizza with very thinly sliced potato, but I like the sound of something fresh like pear!
Looks delicious!
Where did you get the Alfredo pizza baker? I am looking for a low-priced pizza oven in the U.S. I tried searching the web for the Breston, but all I find are european sites and none are in English.
Any suggestions?
Also, if you don’t mind me asking, how high does the temperature get?
thanks!
Hello Darin,
We live in the Netherlands and Bestron is a Dutch brand (products are made in the far east). Maybe you can send them an email and ask if they have resellers in the U.S.(www.bestron.nl. We ordered ours at a postal order company in the Netherlands called Wehkamp (but also bear in mind that in Europe we have a higher voltage (230 V) than you have in the U.S.. The Alfredo’s temperature goes to 350 to 400 degrees Celsius. The pizza is ready in approx. 4 minutes, depending on the amount of topping. I think this is the cheapest and closest thing to a professional pizza oven.
Good Luck with the search,
Marieke
Thanks so much for responding!
I was looking through the machines available here and there is one that looks very similar to yours (i.e. a round covered cooker, same temperature; Deni brand for what it’s worth). I’ll check that one out. I too wish I were in the position to get a real oven.
Oh, also, there is a site you may find interesting: a guy who made a major study of how to replicate new york style thin crust pizza. It is a long post with a lot of interesting, useful information about pizza making. http://jvpizza.sliceny.com/
Thanks again, good luck, and I’m very glad to have found your blog, I will check back – it’s a great read! You take some beautiful photos as well.
Hi!
I got a pizza oven that looked like yours and tried it today — it works great! Thanks again for your help.
I blogged about the pizza making and credited your site and help. . . you can read it at http://mettabebe.blogspot.com/2006/10/makin-pizza-at-home-ny-style-for-win.html
If you’d rather I didn’t link to you or anything, please let me know.
