Jamie’s Italy

I love Jamie Oliver and I love Italy. But when his book came out I thought: “I already have four Jamie’s and so many books with authentic Italian Food, I am going to let this one go. But then it became Christmas and I saw that play.com had a very attractive offer. Jamie’s Italy for only 13 euro (in Holland they were asking 32 euro at that time) delivered at my doorstep. The decision was quickly made and the book delivered before the holidays (the price has gone up again since). I am not sorry at all I bought this one too. You know, sometimes one single recipe can make a cookbook worth it’s money. And with this book the joy of cooking oozes from every page and Jamie knows what he is talking about when it comes to Italian food. Easy peasy recipes for the most part. The dolci section could have been bigger but that is my sweet tooth talking. Not too fond of pictures of slaughtered animals, but at least you can see where it is coming from (you think children in Italy also believe that chicken is something white and gelatinous on a styrofoam dish with plastic rapping?)
Try the ‘pasta al forno’, you can’t go wrong with it. The ‘bustrengo’ is also very tasty and a nice change from your regular apple pie.
