Pizza in Positano

You probably have heard of this list: ‘The top 50 things every foodie should do’ (Observer Food Monthly, may 2005). I am ‘proud’ to say that I did some of the things on this list. Nr. 1, making toast….yes I did that, but not over the hot plate of an Aga…so I guess that does not count… But I did nr. 17 and 19! Lick an ice cream in Sicily, order a Bellini in Harry’s Bar in Venice (twice!). And I also Sniffed a white truffle (nr. 25). And nr. 29: Pod fresh peas. Did that and doing it again this may! And 40… Bake a loaf of bread. Well just browse through my blog and you know what I like best. What about nr. 42: Take coffee at Caffé Florian. Hmmm, I had tea. And some things I just do not want to do! Like stuffing myself with caviar (I’ll just have the blini with the crème fraiche, and keep the money thank you).
What I can recommend myself: Go for a holiday on the Amalfi coast in the south of Italy. Go to Positano, rent a little apartment (maybe after you watch the movie ‘Only You’ or ‘The Yellow Rolls-Royce’ I suspect that is why there are a lot of American visitors in Positano) and have the best pizza from a wood fired oven with a glass of D’oro dell Amalfi. While you are there, might as well take a boat trip to Capri, eat wild strawberries and lots of food and drinks made with the best lemony lemons in the world!
